The influence of ferrite particle size on the quality of the magnetic marker in shale gas hydraulic fracturing

Abstract: The study analyzes the influence of particle size of magnetic ferrite on the possibility of using it, as a marker in magnetic prop pant during hydraulic fracturing. Based on a broad and accurate literature review, it was found, that the ferrite grain size can be one of the critical parameter conditioning the quality of the magnetic marker in shale gas hydraulic fracturing. Hence, the ferrite grain size determines greatly both the costs and efficiency of hydraulic fracturing.

Eco-efficiency as a problem in managing contemporary enterprises

Abstract: The paper presents the issue of eco-efficiency as a problem in managing contemporary enterprises. While discussing the origins of the concept, it specifies its significance in practical operation of companies as well as forms of defining it. The article includes a synthetic review of methods of evaluation of eco-economic development of enterprises by means of the analysis of indexes referring to simple time of investment return, more efficient allocation of resources and the LCC index which helps to select the most profitable option out of other competitive alternatives of operation, purchase and maintenance.

The efficiency of eco-logistics processes on the food market

Abstract: The paper discusses the question of the efficiency of eco-logistics on the food market. The aim of the article is to present major problems related to the impact of food production processes, packaging, distribution and transport on the environment. It presents the origins of eco-logistics in relation to the concepts of logistics and reverse logistics. It analyses the characteristics and general assumptions of the efficiency of eco-logistics processes and describes food market as well as its impact on the natural environment. Furthermore it discusses the issue of waste generation and presents business entities operating on the food market in the aspect of their further development. The question of sanitary standards for products of the food sector is analyzed as well as the dynamics of the development of technologies used in the processes of reverse logistics, changing exogenic expectations and systems of values.

Infrastructure for multi-floor virtual enterprises system

Abstract: The multi-floor manufacturing is widely used in the megacities with high-density population due to the limited areas for industrial development and also the necessity of unloading transport streams. The article gives the analysis of an infrastructure for the multi-floor virtual enterprises system that allows allocating the components and studying their role in maintaining the main production. The conditions for the harmonization of the vertical transport carrying capacity and of the performance of a multi-floor assembly manufacturing are determined. The morphological analysis of ownership patterns of the fixed assets for the multi-floor virtual enterprises is defined. The article offers to define the enterprises-homes as system of multi-floor virtual workhouses.

Analysis of machines effectiveness in the company which produces electronic equipment

Abstract: This article presents the issues in the field of maintenance systems. They are characterized four major generations of maintenance systems. Assumptions, goals and history of the Total Productive Maintenance TPM are presented. This article presents also the company located in the Silesian Voivodeship, which produces electronic devices: electronic meters of electric energy and data communications systems for measurement, recording, analysis, presentation and billing of accounting sizes. In the research part an analysis of the machines effectiveness, which are used in manufacturing process of electronic meter of electric energy - surface mount assembly machine and wave soldering machine, using TPM coefficients was presented. Application of these coefficients allowed to the evaluation of current state of machines, which were analyzed and conclusions regarding to the further maintenance of these machines.

Urban traffic problems of kaliningrad and their solution

Abstract: The main cause of degradation of our cities is a "clash of cities and cars". In Kaliningrad overcome the critical threshold of motorization around 300-400 cars per 1000 inhabitants. This situation is characterized by traffic jams, road accidents and environmental deterioration. To overcome the crisis should be developed and implemented measures of transport policy in two areas discussed in the article. Without their introduction the town cannot become a city „liveable".

Application of GIS systems for delimitation of degraded areas of small cities and rural areas

Abstract: The paper presents the results of research on application of GIS systems for delimitation of degraded areas in smaller municipalities. During the analyses it was found out, that the distribution of population of smaller municipalities is uneven as most of the areas are covered by forests or cornfield. This increases population on smaller housing areas. From the point of view of socio-economic indicators related to the unit of area of the land, it interferes the measurements. On the other hand, due to lower number of inhabitants comparing to larger cities, taking some of the indicators that are standardised to „per 100 persons” as they are, may also interfere the results and distort the real situation. This paper is an attempt to handle these dilemmas.

The use of Kano model for the classification of the elements of product quality

Abstract: The article presents a case study of the use of the Noriaki Kano model, which allows the identification of the characteristics of the perfect product from the perspective of a potential customer. One of the basic assumptions of the Kano model is the variability of customer requirements, which with the passage of time and copying attributes of a product by competing companies, so-called "stunning" factors become common and become expected attributes, then the desired factors, and in the final phase the discouraging factors. The studies of features, of the perfect product were carried out in the company of processing meat and vegetable. There were identified four groups of features: attracting, standard, one-dimensional and neutral. Based on obtained data there were modified packaging and changed areas of allocating given type of assortment on the market.

The role of QFD method in creating innovation

Abstract: Starting from the classical divisions of innovation on product innovation, process and organizational innovation and the concept of the routine, and the resulting forced to celebrate the aim of the publication was to determine the applicability of QFD methods for different types of innovation. In addition, we attempt to compare the role of QFD methods in this field in comparison with other tools used in quality management.

Spatial surrogate for air emissions from small residential combustion – analysis using scarce top-down estimates

Abstract: This paper presents methodology for obtaining 'first step' spatial surrogate for disaggregation of air pollutants' emissions determined using top-down approach. Considered sector was small residential combustion due to its importance in emission budget, also potential health threatening. However our analysis is not flawless due to partial loss of information connected with locations, can be effectively used as specific method for determining of spatial outliers. Simplified approach shown in this paper uses values derived from gridded population density as downs calling factor for air pollutants' emissions. We determined three potential regions that should be treated separately to obtain independent – ‘regional” emission surrogates.
