Experimental research of the location of links on the chain drum with a high degree of wear

Abstract:
In order to meet the requirements of modern coal mining, scraper conveyors with increasingly higher drive powers, higher speeds of scraper chains, larger masses and sizes of link chains and scrapers are constructed. Entering the chain links in engagement with the drum teeth segments and disengaging the links in the slip of the links on the tooth flank is accompanied by significant pressure and friction forces having a decisive impact on the wear of the tooth segments and the bottoms of the drum seats. The wear of the chain drum components and the extension of the chain pitch change the geometrical relations that determine the location of the links in the drum seats. In the tested conveyor equipped with a scraping chain and a chain drum withdraw from operation due to a high degree of wear, quick change of the position of the chain links during their running on the drum was registered by speed cameras. Registration and analysis of the chain-to-drum connection process confirmed the occurrence of slip of all horizontal links coming into engagement with the flanks of the teeth towards the bottoms of the drum seats.

Chosen technical aspects of shaft deepening process

Abstract: Due to a necessity of exploitation of seam laying at greater depths there is a need of resolving a problem of gaining access to those deposits. Limiting of investments in the industry has led many of the mines to conduct sublevel mining. However, it seems reasonable to consider a possibility of a traditional solution to this problem, which is sinking new shafts or deepening existing ones. All of the presented solutions have their pros and cons. The article presents chosen technical aspects of sinking and deepening mine shafts. It was assumed, that this solution is in many cases much more profitable than sublevel exploitation. Currently employed methods of shaft deepening, along with coal shearing and transport systems, shaft reinforcement and safety of this process were discussed. Aim of the presented work is to reason that in current state of technology sinking new shafts and deepening existing ones makes sense economically and technically.

Coke as a fuel limiting low emission

Abstract: Problem of low emissions is one of the most current hazards in the field of protection of the natural environment. It is mainly a result of burning low quality fuel in household furnaces. To limit its impact on the environment, a wide scope of actions must be undertaken. One of the areas which display an opportunity of reducing the problem, is proposing to consumers a good quality fuel in acceptable price. Such fuel could be coke. The article describes legal status of using traditional fuels in Poland. It also concerns legal regulations in area in scope of low height emissions and its countermeasures. Propositions of improvement of this situation by using coke as a clean fuel are presented. Results of cost analysis of its application in comparison to other fuelsare described in this article. The aim of this paper is to present one of the solutions for limiting low emissions by using coke for heating. In entirety of actions in this field it is one worthy of delving into, especially considering high amounts of this fuel available on the market.

The life cycle approach in creation of eco-innovative solutions

Abstract: The publication presents the theoretical approach to environmental management based on the assessment of environmental aspects of innovative technological solutions, products and services in their full life cycle. Applying this approach at an early stage of technologies development is very useful in assessing their environmental quality. The Life Cycle Approach has been tested in practice on the example of assessment of the production of innovative, very durable composite material with increased thermal conduction properties. The use of this approach allowed to determine the environmental impacts of new material in relation to existing technological solutions and to identify key factors affecting environmental quality of composite material.

The concept of eco-management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the rural areas

Abstract: Waste electrical and electronic equipment is a significant problem in waste management. Inparticular, it can be observed in small towns and rural areas. When it comes to the rest of waste which is a part of municipal solid waste, the problem has been (to a certain degree) resolved, but in terms of electrical and electronic waste, it requires a thorough analysis and undertaking actions in order to find a solution. The municipality is responsible for removing pollution from its area, therefore the municipality must be accurately informed of places and ways of removing electrical and electronic waste by its inhabitants. In practice, however, the users of electrical and electronic equipment are obliged to return wasted equipment to an applicable collection point. The problem of waste electrical and electronic equipment with the special attention paid to the Polish and European legislation in this regard, was discussed in the article. The present state of management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the rural areas was discussed, as well as remedies on that point were presented. Also, the concept of system of management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the rural areas, considering the investment strategy in WEEE collection points, were presented. The material presented in the article should encourage the discussion on subject of management of waste electrical and electronic equipment and possibilities of enhancing the present condition of the environment.

The evaluation of similarity or its lack in the preference range of factors which describe the i principle of toyota according with the BOST method

Abstract: This work presents results acquired by carrying out a BOST survey in a company from food and beverage industry. There were built the importance series of factors for respective grades with the usage of average grade. In the importance series an identical preference of two or even three factors was verified (the gap between them equals 0.0% in the range scale) A big disproportion in the preference of factors was verified. The majority of factors is located in the middle of the range scale and one or two factors are located at the end of the range scale. In the food and beverage company the factor which is most preferred by the respondents is the client’s well-being (DK).

Key words: food and beverage industry, preference, range scale
